International University Sport Federation
The Universiades and World University Championships are conducted under the auspices of the International University Sports Federation (FISU). As a member of FISU, AUS is the only organisation authorised to enter Australian teams or individuals to compete in FISU events.
FISU appoints the hosts of the Universiades and World University Championships in accordance with FISU regulations and candidature process.
The Universiades are multisport events with many similarities to the Olympic Games and are held in the odd numbered years. The World University Championships are single sport events held in the even numbered years.
For more information regarding FISU please go to the FISU website.
Oceania University Sports Association
AUS is also a member of the Oceania University Sports Association (OUSA) which is a continental association of FISU.
