As the peak body for university sport in Australia, AUS facilitates additional tours and representative team activities that may not fall under the banner of the International University Sports Federation (FISU).

These may include international or domestic events in which AUS has been invited to participate, international tours (once only events) or ongoing events such as the Trans-Tasman Rowing and University Rugby League interstate clash.

Event selection

AUS determines the calendar of events in consideration of the AUS funding and event guideline.

Eligibility

To be eligible, competitors must meet the eligibility requirements set out in the AUS athlete's and anti-doping by-laws. These include:

- Be an Australian citizen

- Be enrolled and currently proceeding in a course of study at a university or other tertiary institution
