2017 AUS Awards nominations now open!

Since 2001, Australian University Sport (AUS) has recognised the performances and contributions of student-athletes along with influential coaches and programs through the annual AUS Awards.

The 2017 AUS Awards are now open for nominations across the following categories:

Most Outstanding Sporting Achievement of the Year
Recognises an exceptional performance by an elite athlete at an Olympic Games, World Championships or other significant international competition whilst being a university student during the nominated period.

Most Outstanding Performance of the Year by an Athlete with a Disability
Recognises an exceptional performance by an elite athlete with a disability (AWD) at a Paralympic Games, World Championships or other significant international competition whilst being a university student during the nominated period.

Most Outstanding Performance of the Year by an Indigenous Athlete
Recognises an exceptional performance by an indigenous elite athlete at an Olympic Games, World Championships or other significant international competition whilst being a university student during the nominated period.

Male Athlete of the Year Award
Acknowledges the achievements of the best Australian university male athlete, assessed on performances at an AUS endorsed event and their contributions to university sport during the nominated period.

Female Athlete of the Year Award
Acknowledges the achievements of the best Australian university female athlete, assessed on performances at an AUS endorsed event and their contributions to university sport during the nominated period.

Coach of the Year
Acknowledges the efforts of a coach who has contributed to university sport during the nominated period. In particular, their involvement has made a significant contribution to the success of a person/s or team that they have coached or been the major cause for an increased standard of coaching in the sport with which they have been associated.

Team of the Year
Acknowledges the achievements of the best university team in Australia, assessed on contributions made to university sport which may include performances at AUS endorsed events during the nominated period. This team must consist of student-athletes from a single university.

Community Leadership
Acknowledges a club, team or university for their commitment and dedication to building capacity to promote positive attitudes and behaviours either within the university sporting community or between university sport and the local community.

Nominations for all awards will be considered for performances and contributions during the period 1 October 2016 to 30 September 2017 inclusive. All nominations must be endorsed by the nominating University Sport Association CEO (or equivalent).
