Grabs Queenslands Best Event of The Year Award!
Australian University Games (AUG) claimed the
2005 Queensland Sport Event of the Year award at the
11th Annual Queensland Sport Awards. Presented by the
sports Federation of Queensland Inc. the Awards were
held at The Brisbane Convention Centre 1 December 2005.

VSU Legislation
Passed
On Friday 9 December 2005 the Legislation
on Voluntary Student Unionism passed through the Senate.
The Legislation will come into effect as of the 1
July 2006 with member associations unable to charge
student amenity fees for new students from the second
half of 2006 and all students in 2007. More...

Australian
University Championship – Golf
The AUC Golf for 2005 was held the week of December
5-9 in Perth W.A. Over 80 competitors from 12 universities
across Australia participated including the largest

On 16th January 2006 Australian University Sport (AUS)
will launch their new and improved website.
The Website will incorporate an online registration
system for all competitors and non competitors.
The new website will be available at www.unigames.com.au

TROPHY
SECTION - "Special Notice"
AUS is continuing to locate two athletics shields
listed below. The whereabouts and past winners of
these two trophies are unknown and AUS would like
assistance from universities to locate them.
The Shields are:
- Denton Rees Shield (first presented 1954)
for winning Men's 4 x 110 yards Relay Team
- Booth/Solomon Shield (first presented 1965) for
winning Men's 4 x 440 yards Relay Team
AUS asks that all universities please check their
trophy cabinets, Athletics Clubs and Athletics Club
Alumni for the whereabouts of these two shields.
