2019 Summer Universiade
Shooting
The Event
The shooting competition at the 2019 Summer Universiade will take place on the 4-9 July at the Napoli Shooting Center. Shooting was first held at the Summer Universiade in Bangkok 2007, with 450 athletes competing. Shooting was last held at the 2015 edition with 2016 Olympic gold medallist and former UniRoo, Catherine Skinner, winning a bronze medal. In 2019, five UniRoos will compete in pistol and rifle disciplines. This includes pistol shooter, Sergei Evglevski, who won a silver medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
Results
This year’s shooting team performed well at the Summer Universiade 2019. Notably, Jack Rossiter (Bachelor of Business (Marketing), Flinders University) achieved an excellent 8th place in the 10m Air Rifle event. We are excited to be back for the next Summer Universiade in 2021, to be held in Chengdu, China!
