QUT elite student-athlete represents Australia in Wheelchair Basketball

Jordan Bartley is a Queensland University of Technology student, studying a Bachelor of Information Technology and a member of the Elite Athlete Program. He also recently made his debut representing Australia in the Senior Men's Wheelchair Basketball Team, 'The Rollers', competing in the Asia Oceanic Zone (AOZ) Qualification in Thailand.

Teams for Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabi, Iran and Australia travelled to compete in the tournament. Australia took home the gold medal after winning a thrilling final against Iran 50-56, securing a sport in the World Championships held in Dubai in November 2022.

"Coming home in first place was a dream result"

- Jordan Bartley

Bartley had an outstanding tournament with 32 points and 18 assists. Bartley said the trip was extremely rewarding to not only compete against the best international teams in our zone, but also learn from some of the experienced senior players in the squad both on and off the court.
