Snowboard
In 2021, snowboard will be held at the Nationals Snow event at Thredbo and will be contested in both men's and women's competitions.
Five disciplines will be offered in next year's event including super G, giant slalom, slopestyle, boarder cross and rails.

Super G
Super G is a speed event where each athlete completes one run down the course with their finish time determining the final order based on ascending time.

Format: One run timed.
Giant slalom
Each athlete completes two runs. It is a technical event with a longer course and fewer gates than the slalom. The number of gates is determined by the vertical drop of the course.

Format: Two timed runs combined. Second run - top 15 reversed order followed by rest of field.
Slopestyle
In slopestyle, athletes snowboard down a course including a variety of obstacles including rails, jumps, and other terrain park features. Points are scored for amplitude, originality and quality of tricks.

Format: 2 run qualification then 6 person finals (TBC).
Boarder cross
In boarder cross, several riders race down a course with jumps, berms and other obstacles constructed out of snow on a downhill course.

Format: One run qualification then top 16 through to elimination finals.
Rails
Rails come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Athletes perform tricks which are scored based on difficulty, style and execution.

Format: Rail Jam - as many scored runs as possible in the allotted time.
