On behalf of my Government, I am pleased to welcome competitors, officials and supporters to
Perth for the 2026 UniSport Nationals. Last held in Western Australia in 2022, Perth is proud to once
again host this prestigious national competition for seven action-packed days of sport.
Western Australia's capital city will be buzzing with excitement when thousands of university
students from across Australia gather to compete for national honours across 30 sports. From
sailing and lacrosse to futsal and tenpin bowling, athletes will test their skills at a range of our State’s
premier sporting venues, including Arena Joondalup and Champion Lakes Regatta Centre.
The UniSport Nationals provide an important platform for students from 42 universities to compete
at a national level, showcasing talent, teamwork and university pride, and we are thrilled to host
such an important event in the sporting career of these young athletes.
Mass participation events play a key role in my Government’s economic diversification strategy,
attracting visitors who support local jobs, boost local businesses and deliver significant economic
benefits to the State.
While in Perth, I strongly encourage visitors to experience more of our beautiful city, from its diverse
dining and entertainment offerings to iconic destinations such as Fremantle, Rottnest Island and the
Swan Valley.
