@sydunisport capped off a fantastic 2024 @newbalance UBL Women’s season with an 81–62 Grand Final victory over @latrobesport. 🏆
With home court advantage and a shot at history, USYD set the tone early, leading by more than 20 points at halftime thanks to performances from Alexandra Kayrouz, Caitlyn Martin, and Holly Wills.
Despite second-half efforts from Anna Burrows and Hayley Sparks, La Trobe’s hopes of a three-peat were dashed as The University of Sydney got its revenge, clinching their first-ever UBL Women’s title. 🔥

History was written in last year`s @newbalance UBL Men’s Grand Final, as @latrobesport claimed their first-ever title in the men’s division, defeating @sydunisport 104–90. 🏆
Nick Day and Lachlan Vander Vorm led the charge for the Eagles 🦅, scoring 26 points each. Robbie Moore and Matthew Wacher’s combined 44 points sparked a USYD second-half comeback.
The lead changed hands seven times before La Trobe pulled away to secure their maiden championship. Not bad for your first Grand Final appearance! 👏🔥🦅

The New Balance University Basketball League (UBL) is back in 2025, following its biggest season yet in 2024.
The 2025 League will kick off in August 2025, consisting of home and away fixtures with the top 8 qualifying for the finals series in October. Schedule coming soon!
