The New Balance University Basketball League (UBL) will return in August 2026.
The University of Tasmania closed out the 2025 league winning both the men’s and women’s competitions. The 2026 league will see even more teams competing across Australia in home and away fixtures with the top 8 qualifying for the finals series in October. Schedule to be published soon.

After reaching the quarter-finals with both teams last season, @unswbasketball is aiming to go one step further in UBL26.
Led by experienced coaches Haydn Smyth (Men`s Team) and Liam Brombal (Women`s Team), the program combines high-intensity basketball with an electric home game atmosphere, complete with fan activations and giveaways.
Off the court, students can also gain valuable hands-on experience through media and physio work-integrated learning opportunities.
