Team Australia prepares for 2025 FISU Winter World University Games

UniSport Australia (UniSport) is excited to announce the appointment of Tameka Collins as the Chef de Mission of the Australian Uniroos team for the FISU Winter World University Games 2025 and 2027 campaigns.

Tameka steps into the Chef de Mission role with a wealth of experience in both university and high-performance sport having previously worked as the University Sport Manager at University of Canberra as well as HSBC SVNS tournaments, UC Capitals WNBL and Brumbies Rugby. Tameka is also an experienced sport administrator currently working at Australian Sports Commission as Senior Manager Sport Programs.

Speaking on her appointment, Tameka is excited by the prospect of working closely in support of a team of talented Australian student-athletes.

“The dedication and commitment from these student-athletes is world class and I look forward to supporting the team in Torino in January and for the team to experience the opportunity to compete against the best winter sport student-athletes in the world.”

It is anticipated that Australia will be represented across seven sports – Alpine Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Snowboard, Biathlon, Freestyle Skiing, Figure Skating, and Short Track Speed Skating. UniSport will work with the relevant national sporting organisations to select the team.

The Australian UniRoos is the team identity for all UniSport high performance teams representing Australia on the international stage at either a World University Championship, Summer or Winter World University Games.

About the Winter World University Games

The Winter World University Games is an international university sports and cultural event that is staged every two years in a different city. These games draw thousands of student-athletes together to compete, making it one of the largest multisport events in the world.

In 2025, the event will be held from 13-23 January in Torino, Italy.
