UniSport Nationals Div 2 wraps up

The 2019 UniSport Nationals Div 2 presented by UniBank wrapped up on Thursday afternoon with Western Sydney University taking out the Tom O’Sullivan Spirit Award Trophy – awarded to the university that displays outstanding sportsmanship, fair play and respect for others and self.

A total of 36 teams earned promotion to the UniSport Nationals Div 1 competition in September and October this year, with Macquarie University, The University of Wollongong and La Trobe University securing three promoted teams each.

Nationals Div 2 celebrated the introduction of Lacrosse 5’s with the first gold medal awarded to the University of South Australia who beat Melbourne University 19-9.

Once again the incredible display of sportsmanship and competitive spirit was a real highlight of Nationals Div 2.

We now turn our attention to the Nationals Div 1 and look to see if any of the promoted teams can take out the double.

UniSport Nationals Div 1 will commence on 28 September 2019 and run through until 3 October 2019 on the Gold Coast.
