University of Tasmania (UTAS) is Australia‚ fourth oldest university (est. 1890), with campuses in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie. It serves over 32,000 students and is Tasmania‚ only member of the prestigious Group of Eight.

UTAS excels in marine and Antarctic studies, agriculture, environmental science and health. The Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS) drives cutting-edge research on climate change and ocean ecosystems.

UTAS Sport operates major facilities at the Hobart and Launceston campuses—including a 25m indoor pool, two gymnasiums, indoor courts and weights areas. The Launceston University Courts host volleyball and basketball competitions, and more than 30 sporting clubs give students competitive and social opportunities year-round.
