The University of Queensland

The University of Queensland (UQ), founded in 1909, is based in Brisbane with key campuses at St Lucia and Gatton. UQ is a founding member of Australia’s Group of Eight and serves around 55,000 students.

UQ’s global research impact includes breakthroughs in prostate cancer treatment, sustainable agriculture and quantum computing. Faculties of Science, Engineering, Business (UQ Business School) and Health Sciences rank among the nation’s best.

UQ Sport & Fitness offers the UQ Aquatic Centre with 50m pools, a waterslide and a leisure pool, plus the Gehrmann Sports Centre—home to courts, a rock-climbing wall and performance gyms. More than 70 clubs engage students in sports from ultimate frisbee to water polo.
