Snow Nationals Returns to the UniSport Calendar in 2025

UniSport Australia is thrilled to announce the return of Snow Nationals to the national university sport calendar in 2025, at the Thredbo Resort, in New South Wales.

After a brief hiatus, Snow Nationals is back from 31 August to 2 September, to giving student-athletes the opportunity to represent their university on the slopes in some of Australia’s most iconic alpine destinations. Competitors will go head-to-head in a range of disciplines across skiing and snowboarding, surrounded by the spectacular Snowy Mountains.

A revised 3-day event has been created with sport disciplines for 2025 will include alpine and snowboard giant slalom, alpine and snowboard Super G, ski cross and snowboard cross, ski and snowboard slopestyle, alpine cross country, along with ski and snowboard rails.

Team nominations for Snow Nationals have opened, with student athlete registrations opening on Wednesday 11 June.

Thredbo Resort, renowned for its world-class facilities, long runs, and vibrant alpine village, provides the perfect backdrop for Snow Nationals. The resort has a proven record of hosting elite competitions, and it’s set to deliver an unforgettable experience for both competitors and spectators alike.

“Snow Nationals is a favourite among students and a truly unique part of our national calendar,” Mark Sinderberry, UniSport Australia CEO said on the welcome return of Snow Nationals, “we’re excited to bring this event back in 2025 and are grateful to Thredbo Resort for their partnership in making it happen.”

“Our UniRoos represented us proudly in Italy at the FISU Winter World University Games earlier in 2025,” Sinderberry added, “and events like Snow Nationals give our Australian student-athletes the perfect platform to showcase their skills in a competitive environment, while enjoying the opportunity to represent their universities on home soil.”
