Queensland University of Technology

Queensland University of Technology (QUT), tracing its roots to 1849 technical institutes, became a university in 1989 and is located in Brisbane’s inner city suburbs of Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove. It serves over 50,000 students with a focus on real-world learning.

QUT is acclaimed for its business, creative industries and engineering faculties, alongside leading research in robotics, data science and health technology. The Creative Industries Precinct and the Institute for Future Environments exemplify its applied research ethos.

QUT Sport & Recreation manages the Sports and Fitness gym, indoor courts, and the Kelvin Grove Pool. More than 60 student sport clubs—from futsal and netball to climbing and crew—compete in university and community competitions, supported by coaching and fitness programs.
