And that’s a wrap for the 2020 Western Series

It’s been an amazing couple of weeks of intervarsity sport in the West. All five UniSport WA members have been involved in the Western Series which has seen an unrivalled competition take place over two weeks in September and October. UWA have taken out a number of tightly contested events, however their local compatriots provided some serious competition.

And the winners are:

Futsal: Men – UWA, Women – ECU

Tennis: Men – UWA, Women – CU

Volleyball: Men – CU, Women – NDA

Netball: Mixed – ECU, Women – ECU

Hockey: Men – UWA, Women – UWA

Basketball: Men – UWA, Women – UWA

Badminton: Men – UWA, Women – ECU

The University of Western Australia, Murdoch University and Edith Cowan University also competed in the 2020 Indigenous Western Series across netball, volleyball and basketball competitions with UWA emerging as overall winners.

Congratulations to all who competed. It’s fantastic to see intervarsity sport back at its best in the West.
