MELB established a 27–13 advantage in the opening quarter before CU responded with a 20–7 second term, reducing the margin to just one at half-time.

Melbourne regained control after the break, outscoring the Carnabys 41–29 across the second half. Dihan Wiggett led MELB with 17 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals, while Kye Kelly added 16 points.
