Intervarsity sport is back in the East!

Despite COVID throwing a giant curve ball to sport in 2020, UniSport members in NSW and the ACT have been working hard to create a number of local intervarsity opportunities for their students to compete in this year.

UTS and UNSW have been challenging each other in a three game netball series with the final women’s and mixed matches to take place (and live streamed via Facebook) on Tuesday 22 September. UTS and USYD are also preparing to battle it out across both a basketball and netball home and away series in the coming weeks.

UC and ANU have been able to relaunch their annual Black Mountain Battle with seven sports to be contested on 24 September and 8-9 October across both campuses. The nation’s capital will also host the inaugural Canberra InTRIvarsity event that will involve UC, ANU and ACU who will fight it out over netball and touch football competitions.

MQU will host a range of local intervarsity competitions for their Sydney counterparts including ultimate (30 September), touch football (2 October) and Indigenous events (13 October). They will also take on UTS in a two game futsal series from 12-19 October.

UNSW will host a hockey and football event at David Phillips Sport Fields on 2 October, with the University League 9s event taking place at the NSWRL Centre of Excellence on 16 October.
