The New Balance University Basketball League (UBL) will return in August 2026.
The University of Tasmania closed out the 2025 league winning both the men’s and women’s competitions. The 2026 league will see even more teams competing across Australia in home and away fixtures with the top 8 qualifying for the finals series in October. Schedule to be published soon.

Round Three saw another week of UBL action! 🏀
From close finishes to big wins, Season 2026 of the New Balance UBL continued to deliver across the country.
🔥 @sydneyunibasketball held on for a 62-59 win over @adelaideunisportfitness in the women’s contest, while AU took out the men’s game 90-93 after a late USYD comeback.
⚡️ @utsbasketball secured their first men’s win since returning to the UBL, defeating @melbunibb 88-72.
⚔️ @monashbasketball and @latrobesport battled it out in a five-point women’s thriller, with La Trobe taking the win 74-79.
Bring on Round Four, with 20 games set to take place across the competition! 👀

@nusport.sport @utassport @sydneyunibasketball and @unimelb lead the way across the two conferences (men and women) as the New Balance UBL ends round 3.
All the action from Round 4 will be live on UniSportTV FREE. With 20 games on from Tuesday 1 Sept - Friday 4 September featuring all 14 universities.
