Mainfreight Match of the Day Returns For UniSport Nationals Perth 2026 

UniSport Australia is excited to announce that Mainfreight Match of the Day is back for a second year at the 2026 UniSport Nationals in Perth, giving student-athletes, families and fans across Australia the chance to watch selected matches live and free on UniSportTV. 

Following its introduction in 2025, Match of the Day returns in 2026 with Mainfreight, the Official Workforce and Logistics Partner of UniSport Nationals, bringing viewers closer to the action with a daily block of high-energy fixtures from Touch Football, Basketball, Rugby 7s, Hockey and Football throughout the week. 

On the ground, Mainfreight will bring giveaways, freebies and a lively match-day atmosphere to these games, helping create an even bigger experience for students and encouraging them to come down, watch live and celebrate university sport together. 

Mainfreight Development Program Coordinator, Dana Chaya, said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to supporting university sport.

Mainfreight’s support of Nationals builds on a longstanding connection with the event, having previously been involved in the Australian University Games (UniGames) era, dating back to 2015. 

“We’re pleased to welcome Mainfreight back to UniSport Nationals in 2026. Their people-first approach is reflected in the way they support those who make Nationals happen, enhancing the experience for students, volunteers and those watching from afar,” said UniSport CEO, Mark Sinderberry.  

Behind the Mainfreight Match of the Day broadcasts will be a dedicated team of Edith Cowan University (ECU) media and journalism students. 

ECU is set to take Match of the Day to another level in 2026, expanding the live coverage to give viewers a closer look at the competition and moments unfolding across Nationals, including a 10-minute daily recap show. 

Students will take on roles across production, commentary and match coverage, gaining hands-on experience in live sports media. 

“This partnership with ECU gives students the opportunity to apply their skills in a live competition environment, while drawing on the university’s facilities to deliver a high-quality sports production at Nationals. This creates a direct link between academia and the sporting field, which is an important part of UniSport’s long-term strategy,” said Mr Sinderberry. 

From the sidelines in Perth to screens across Australia, Mainfreight Match of the Day will bring the action, atmosphere and stories of Nationals to audiences both on the ground and at home. 

With Mainfreight and ECU bringing the coverage to life, it will be a highlight of UniSport Nationals Perth 2026.
