UniSport Australia (UniSport) has welcomed back Mainfreight for the 2026 UniSport Nationals in Perth as Official Logistics and Workforce Support Partner, strengthening operational support for an event set to bring more than 5,000 participants to the West Coast.
Mainfreight’s connection with UniSport Nationals dates back to the Australian University Games (UniGames) era. In 2015, they were the National Freight Sponsor for the UniGames, also holding naming rights for the volunteer program. In 2016, Mainfreight brought a visible presence to the Games through “Mainfreight Man” a branded mascot who competed in the Mascot Race in Perth and came second, adding an engaging, on-the-ground element to the event atmosphere and highlighting Mainfreight’s commitment to the spirit and energy of university sport. In 2017, Mainfreight continued its support by backing the volunteer program.
These initiatives reflect Mainfreight’s unique blend of operational support, engagement, and community involvement throughout the UniGames chapter, and now, UniSport is excited to welcome them back for the Nationals flagship event this year.
As Official Logistics and Workforce Support Partner of the 2026 UniSport Nationals in Perth, Mainfreight will assist UniSport in delivering an engaging event, contributing to a positive experience for participants, volunteers and member universities alike. Beyond on-the-ground support, the partnership will also extend into a Mainfreight “Home Game” broadcast series, delivering live broadcasts to bring the action in Perth to family, friends, and students who cannot attend in person. The series takes a people-first approach, connecting audiences to the West Coast and sharing the excitement of Nationals with those watching from afar.
Building on their involvement with Nationals, Dana Chaya, Training & Development at Mainfreight shared what led them to collaborate with UniSport again in 2026.
“Mainfreight are excited to be working with UniSport in 2026 as their Official Logistics and Workforce Support Partner. Mainfreight encourages teamwork and resilience, which is why we decided to partner with UniSport, as it aligns with our common goal of developing future leaders. We look forward to being amongst the action in Perth!” she said.
UniSport CEO Mark Sinderberry also welcomed the partnership, saying “Volunteers and workforce teams play a critical role in the delivery of Nationals. Their commitment creates an environment where student-athletes can thrive, and UniSport is delighted that Mainfreight has recognised this as an opportunity to reward those unsung heroes, while also enhancing the experience for all students participating.”
This collaboration comes as preparations continue ahead of the 2026 UniSport Perth Nationals, which will take place from 26 September – 03 October.
