Australia Serving Up the Talent: Table Tennis Team Announced for the FISU Summer World University Games

Australia is set to make an impact at the FISU Summer World University Games this July, in Rhine-Rhur, Germany, with UniSport Australia and Table Tennis Australia today announcing a dynamic and diverse team ready to represent the UniRoos in green and gold on the international stage.
The selected student-athletes are:
· Jacqueline Budiarto, Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science) – Curtin University
· Rocky Chen, Bachelor of Commerce - The University of Melbourne
· Andrew Choi, Bachelor of Commerce and Advanced Studies - The University of Sydney
· Adam Masen, Bachelor of Physiotherapy - Australian Catholic University
· Raymond Myrteza, Bachelor of Commerce - The University of Melbourne
· Chermaine Quah, Bachelor of Science - The University of Melbourne
· Ellen Walker, Bachelor of Business and Media Communication - Monash University
Sidney Win-Shwe, Bachelor of Commerce - Curtin University
· Yueyuan Yang - Coach
These student-athletes have exceptional ability in table tennis and are able to dedicate time to the demands of high-performance sport while balancing that with their academic pursuits, a true embodiment of the student-athlete spirit.

The FISU Summer University Games, brings together thousands of elite competitors from over 150 countries, many of whom go on to become Olympians. Table Tennis, a cornerstone of the Games, promises fast-paced action, fierce rivalries, and moments of brilliance.
"This is an exciting team with a mix of experience and fresh talent. The Summer Games provide an incredible opportunity for these athletes to test themselves on a world stage, and we believe they’ll do Australia proud. We can’t wait to see what they achieve," Ms Adamson added.
With over 19 years of experience in table tennis, Yueyuan Yang has been named as coach of the UniRoos Table Tennis Team. In 2023, Yueyuan not only represented the University of Melbourne as a player but also helped lead the team to victory, showcasing both her skill and leadership. In 2024 she was named Table Tennis Australia’s High Performance Coach of the Year and is excited to return to the games this year, ready to inspire and guide the team toward another championship win.
The competition promises to be electric, with the world watching as the next generation of global table tennis stars take centre stage. The Australian team will be gunning for strong performances, upsets, and unforgettable rallies, showcasing not just skill, but grit and heart.
