UBL secures naming rights partnership with New Balance and signs Nagravision’s Sporfie as a new broadcast partner

UniSport Australia (UniSport) is thrilled to announce a new partnership with New Balance, as the prestigious University Basketball League Australia (UBL) secures its first-ever naming rights sponsor. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for both entities and promises to elevate the university basketball experience to new heights.

The UBL is a unique platform for student-athletes to participate in a high-quality national basketball competition where they represent their university and compete against their peers, shining on and off the court.

The UBL is proud to welcome New Balance as the league’s official naming rights partner. This strategic alliance is set to redefine the landscape of university sport and create memorable opportunities for the talented players within the league.

UniSport CEO Mark Sinderberry, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating ‘We are excited to welcome New Balance as the naming rights partner for our ever-expanding basketball league.’

‘This collaboration is not just about putting a name on the league, but it represents a shared commitment to celebrating student-athletes, and the growth of the league and our university basketball community.’

‘The league is more than just the basketball action on court; it’s about creating a legacy that involves the entire university ecosystem, providing a student-only national league, along with real life work experiences for sports administration, creative industries, and physical and health sciences students to apply their knowledge in a practical environment that complements their studies.’

New Balance Australia’s General Manager Dean Howard, shared their excitement about the partnership, stating ‘We are proud to be associated with UniSport and the outstanding university basketball league it hosts.’

‘This partnership is a testament to our commitment to fostering talent and promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports.’

‘We look forward to working closely with UniSport to create memorable experiences for the players and fans alike, as well as contributing to the overall growth and success of university basketball in Australia.’

All 140 UBL games featuring 28 teams across 14 universities will be livestreamed on UniSportTV powered by Sporfie, which will help take the UBL to new heights this year.

This new partnership with Sporfie marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of university basketball, as we embark on a new era of live streaming excellence.

It not only elevates the viewing experience for fans but signifies a significant stride in the expansion and reach of the UBL,’ said Mr Sinderberry.

Sporfie, a venture of Nagravision, shared their delight about partnering with UniSport on the UniSportTV platform. Chris Neilson, Director of Business Development, stated ‘We are thrilled to partner with UniSport, as we join forces to elevate the live streaming experience for their fans and showcase the incredible talent of student-athletes at Australian universities.’

‘As a leading provider of live streaming technology, we are honoured to be the chosen platform for UBL. We are excited to amplify the league’s reach, connecting fans, alumni and students.’

‘In teaming up with UniSport, we are combining the power of cutting-edge technology with the passion and excitement of university sports in Australia, bringing fans closer to the action and fostering a sense of community around the UBL.’

The UBL, now officially named the New Balance University Basketball League, is set to tip-off its upcoming season this coming Monday with growing support and an expanded university team list, with the addition of one new university, UNSW Sydney, in the league.
