readQUT Sport has partnered with Pride in Sport to offer LGBTQ Awareness Training to participants of QUT sports programs, including student, staff, alumni or the wider community. This training provides formal professional development opportunities on the inclusion of LGBTQ people.
QUT Sport values diversity and believe sport should offer opportunities for all, underpinned by good governance, culture, and integrity. Driving connection and inclusivity through sport is central to our strategy to provide positive pathways for student success and engagement.
The aim of this virtual training session is to provide participants with an overall understanding of why LGBTQ inclusion in sport is important, as well as to provide a level of comfort around terminology, explore challenges often faced by LGBTQ people and provide awareness on the impact that culture has on the lived experience of LGBTQ people.
