UniSport Nationals return to the Gold Coast in 2025. Find out more
Since 2011, UniSport Australia has proudly partnered with the Confederation of Australian Sport (CAS) to deliver the Australian Masters Games, one of the nation’s largest and most celebrated multisport festivals for adults.
The Australian Masters Games is a biennial event that brings together thousands of participants from across Australia and beyond to compete in a spirit of fun, fitness, and friendship. Open to anyone aged 30 and over, regardless of ability or experience, the Games promote lifelong participation in sport and physical activity, a mission deeply aligned with UniSport’s vision of building vibrant sustainable and healthy communities.
Held in a different host city every two years, the AMG not only celebrates sport but also generates significant social, tourism, and economic outcomes for the host community. UniSport plays a central role in the delivery of the Games, working alongside CAS and host cities to manage sport operations, registrations, marketing, digital engagement, and partnerships. In doing so, we connect the university sector with a national movement that champions healthy ageing, social connection, and inclusive competition.
The Games feature more than 50 sports, ranging from athletics and swimming to indoor rowing, dragon boating, lawn bowls, and tenpin bowling; offering something for everyone, from lifelong competitors to those trying a new sport for the first time. Participants frequently travel in groups, forming lifelong friendships and returning year after year to experience the camaraderie, celebration, and shared love of sport that define the AMG.
In 2025, the Australian Masters Games will be hosted in the Nation’s capital, Canberra, from the 18 – 25 October.
As a long-term delivery partner, UniSport contributes not only operational expertise but also innovation and a commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring the Games remain relevant, accessible, and meaningful for all involved.
Looking ahead, UniSport is also proud to support CAS and the Australian organising committee in the delivery of the World Masters Games Perth 2029, the world’s largest multisport event for masters athletes. With over 30,000 participants expected from around the globe, the WMG will build on the success and values of the AMG on an international scale, showcasing Western Australia and the university sport sector as global leaders in inclusive, lifelong participation in sport.
