The University of Sydney ended a very successful day at the Village Green Precinct and the Sport and Aquatic Centre at UNSW Sydney, winning both the men’s and women’s National 3×3 Big Hustle titles in empathic fashion. Both teams only lost one game enroute to their first ever 3×3 Basketball national titles.
45 teams from 23 universities from across Australia were represented, with 180 students competing in the three-day competition.
As a testament to the growth of the event, a Division 2 title was awarded for the first time this year. Congratulations to Macquarie University (men) and University of New South Wales Sydney (women) for winning their respective titles.
UniSport CEO, Mark Sinderberry extends his congratulations to the winning teams and praised all participants for their efforts over the past three days. “We hope every student-athlete had the opportunity to make new connections and most importantly, enjoyed themselves throughout the experience.”
“To have over 40 teams take part in the event is very encouraging. To have the event at the new Village Green Precinct on the UNSW Sydney campus brought a great vibe to the event and we thank UNSW and Arc Sport for hosting the event” Sinderberry said.
“We wish The University of Sydney, Monash University and the University of Wollongong good luck as they move ahead to the Oceania qualifiers later this year” he added.
