Curtin University

Curtin University—originally founded in 1966 as the Western Australian Institute of Technology—became a university in 1987 and is named after Prime Minister John Curtin. Its main Bentley campus near Perth serves over 55,000 students, with global outposts in Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai and Mauritius.

Curtin excels in mining and engineering, health sciences, and business analytics, underpinned by the world-class Curtin Minerals and Energy Technology Research Institute. Its Digital Manufacturing Lab and Synthetic Biology facilities drive innovative, industry-aligned research.

Curtin Sport & Recreation operates the Bentley Recreation and Fitness Centre with indoor courts, a rock-climbing wall, Olympic-length pool and strength-training gym. Outdoor ovals, tennis courts and a running track host interfaculty competitions and more than 40 student clubs year-round.
