Murdoch University

Murdoch University, established in 1975 in Perth’s southern suburbs, was named after newspaper proprietor Sir Walter Murdoch. It has since expanded to campuses in Singapore and Dubai, serving around 25,000 students with a strong international outlook.

Murdoch is particularly renowned for its veterinary and environmental sciences, criminology and journalism programs. Its Harry Butler Institute and Centre for Food Development drive pioneering research in conservation, sustainable agriculture and animal health.

Murdoch Sport & Recreation operates the Sport and Fitness Centre with indoor courts, a rock-climbing wall, a fully equipped gym and group-exercise studios. Campus ovals, synthetic fields and tennis courts host more than 30 student clubs—from netball and soccer to martial arts—competing in intercampus leagues.
