The Australian National University (ANU), chartered by the Commonwealth in 1946, was founded to advance Australia’s postwar research and training capacity. Its leafy Acton campus in Canberra houses more than 20,000 students and renowned research institutes.

ANU Sport & Recreation boasts the University Sport & Fitness Centre with a 50m pool, indoor courts, fitness studios and a climbing wall. The Bruce Sports Centre offers multiple ovals, athletics tracks and tennis courts, while more than 40 student clubs compete in intervarsity leagues.
