University of Canberra (UC), established in 1967 as the Canberra College of Advanced Education and gaining full university status in 1990, sits on Ngunnawal land in Bruce, ACT. It serves around 15,000 students and enjoys strong links with government and policy bodies.

UC is known for its professional programs in education, health sciences, law and sports management. The Institute for Applied Ecology and the UC Health Building drive world-class research in environmental sustainability and allied health practice.

UC Sport & Recreation’s Fitness and Aquatic Centre offers lap pools, group-fitness studios, a strength-training gym and courts for basketball and netball. The Bruce Campus oval and synthetic fields host rugby, soccer and across-campus tournaments, while more than 30 clubs encourage active student participation.
