University of South Australia (UniSA), formed in 1991 through the merger of several institutions dating back to 1856, is Adelaide’s largest university. Its City West and City East campuses sit in the heart of the city, engaging over 37,000 students across six campuses.

UniSA is recognised for its industry-aligned teaching and research in health sciences, engineering, business and digital technologies. The Future Industries Institute and the Ian Wark Research Institute lead cutting-edge work in advanced materials, diagnostics and aged care.

UniSA Sport & Fitness operates the Sports & Fitness Centre at City West with indoor courts, a strength-training gym and group-fitness studios. Outdoor ovals and tennis courts at Magill campus host a range of student clubs—from netball and cricket to ultimate frisbee—competing in intramural and community leagues.
