University of Southern Queensland

University of Southern Queensland (USQ), founded in 1967 as the Darling Downs campus of University of Queensland, became independent in 1992. With campuses at Toowoomba, Springfield and online, USQ supports over 25,000 students nationwide.

USQ is known for its distance-education expertise and research strengths in agriculture, engineering, education and health. The Centre for Agricultural Engineering and the Education Futures Institute drive innovation in regional development and online learning methodologies.

USQ Sport & Fitness operates indoor courts, a gym and weights room at each campus. The Toowoomba Sports Centre features a 25m pool and synthetic fields, while student clubs—from netball and soccer to esports—compete locally and join regional tournaments throughout the year.
