Dodgeball isn’t just a game, it’s a fast, fierce battle where every throw could be your last. Dodgeball is set to debut in the UniSport Nationals calendar in 2025, with the fast-paced, high-stakes sport to be contested as a division 2 mixed competition on the Gold Coast.
Scheduled for Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th of September, the tournament will bring together university teams from across the country to battle it out for national glory.

Nine teams from six universities battled it out at the 2025 Australian University Dodgeball Championships hosted by UTS in March this year. Monash University dominated the court with their Mighty Morphin Monash, claiming first place in a highly competitive final against Sydney University Dodgeball, who finished second. Host team UTS Teal impressed with a third-place finish result on home ground.
“Dodgeball's appeal lies in its simplicity, it's simple to learn and easy to engage with for a range of people. But as easy as it is to learn the fundamentals, there's so many things to learn, not just around your basic skills like throwing, dodging, blocking and catching”, the Australian Dodgeball Federation explained, adding that deeper strategy makes it exciting for players and spectators alike.
Now, with Nationals on the horizon, teams are regrouping, training, and preparing to take the next step on the national stage. For aspiring players, trial dates will be held soon, so reach out to your university to see when and where trails are held.
These trials are open to all eligible student-athletes, with selectors looking for agility, tactical awareness, and composure under pressure.
As Nationals draw closer, the spotlight is back on dodgeball. For those stepping onto the court, it’s not just a game, it’s a chance to represent their university, test their limits, and be part of one of the most exciting events of the year.
