UniSport Nationals Triathlon Showcases University and Adaptive Sport’s Top Talent at Peoplecare Triathlon Wollongong

The 2025 UniSport Nationals Triathlon was held as part of the Peoplecare Triathlon Wollongong this past weekend, bringing together over 70 of the country’s top university athletes to compete across sprint and standard distances.

Stand out performances from student athletes who podiumed for Unisport Nationals and for the Peoplecare Triathlon Wollongong within the standard distance included Joshua Wooldridge, University of Technology Sydney with an impressive 3rd place.

For the hotly contested sprint distance Grace Kells, The University of Sydney, won and Annabelle McIntyre, University of Technology Sydney placed 2nd in women’s division; while Logan Campbell, UNSW Sydney won and Cooper Lee, The University of Sydney placed 2nd in the men’s sprint distance.

This year marked the introduction of a Multi Class category, highlighted by the participation and victory of Anu Francis, a Paralympic triathlete and passionate advocate for adaptive sport. Anu’s performance and her long-standing work with Triathlon Australia were instrumental in championing the inclusion of adaptive athletes in the UniSport Nationals.

“Having athletes like Anu compete and lead change is exactly what UniSport stands for,” said Christine Voge, General Manager of UniSport’s Nationals Program. “We are proud to partner with Triathlon Australia and remain committed to expanding Multi Class opportunities into 2026 and beyond.”

“We’d like to congratulate all athletes who took part in this year’s Nationals Triathlon,” Voge continued, “there were some outstanding performances across both the individual and team events.”

Special recognition goes to the University of Technology Sydney, who claimed the Women’s Pennant, and The University of Sydney, who took out the Men’s Pennant. The future of university triathlon in Australia is in strong hands.
