AboutInclusive PLAY (Active and Engaged Citizens) focuses on inclusive sport, recreation, and access to safe and healthy natural environments throughout the lifespan. We aim to respond to the growing disparity in health outcomes for people with disability and increase participation and performance in competitive sport in the lead up to the Brisbane 2032 Paralympic Games.

Status/outcomesOperates weekly training sessions with an average of 10 – 15 people. The first Wheelchair AFL Uni Round was held at the MQU Sport & Aquatic Centre.
Monash University – AllPlay Footy Program
AboutAllPlay Footy is a joint initiative by Monash University and the AFL – it is the first nation-wide program in Australia to synthesise the available research evidence on how to support the participation of children with disability in community-based sport.
The program aims to support football coaches and volunteers through professional development, and practical and accessible tools for coaches, volunteers, clubs and families to enable inclusion in Auskick and junior football.

Monash University – AllPlay Dance
AboutThe AllPlay Dance program will provide professional development for dance teachers and equip them to foster an inclusive culture in the classroom. We will also engage with their students (and parents/caregivers) to learn about the benefits they experience from participating in accessible and inclusive dance.

AboutQUT Faculty Games are student interfaculty events run three times in each semester. A dedicated reverse inclusion games program is featured within, with sports offered in collaboration with Sporting Wheelies being Wheelchair Basketball, Boccia and Goalball.

AboutThe Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a voluntary symbol to identify that the wearer has a disability or condition that may not be immediately apparent and that they may need additional time or assistance in public spaces.

South Australian universities – Wheelchair basketball
AboutA wheelchair basketball competition is featured as part of the SA Challenge, an intervarsity competition for the South Australian universities (Adelaide, Flinders and UniSA). No experience is required, and the event is open to people with and without disabilities, with wheelchairs provided.

Status/outcomesSuccessful delivery for five continuous years. Some students have subsequently entered the SA Wheelchair Basketball Association social competition. Many students who played previously returned to play again.
Sydney University Sport & Fitness – Wheelchair basketball/rugby
AboutGala day with multiple sports, including wheelchair basketball/rugby, intended to give participants a fun, engaging introduction to these activities, and encouraging social interaction amongst students.

UniSC – Campus Clash wheelchair basketball
AboutWheelchair basketball game as part of Campus Clash Program. One-day, multi-campus clash between UniSC’s five campuses. Wheelchair Basketball included in Social Sport program. The game was run by Gliders Women’s player Bridie Kean and Suncoast Spinners.

AboutStudent wheelchair basketball match pre UBL home game. Half-time lay-up races VU vs. UniSC. Signage table for spectators with inclusion stickers.

University of Newcastle – Wheelchair AFL League
AboutOpen to all abilities, Wheelchair AFL is a great way for people living with disabilities and those not living with disabilities to play sport alongside each other.
2026 will be the debut season for both University of Newcastle teams, with the university club having been established earlier this year.

UWA – Wheelchair Footy
AboutUWA Sport, in partnership with the Western Australian All Abilities Football Association (WAAAFA) is excited to offer the opportunity to have a go at Wheelchair Footy ahead of the inaugural Wheelchair Footy Social Sports competition this Winter.
Open to participants of all genders and abilities, this Come and Try session will give you the opportunity to try this inclusive version of the Australian game.

AboutThe Walk for Autism we re-branded Walk or Roll for Autism to cater for a wider audience and got some great feedback on that (this challenge happened for the month of May).

Status/outcomes19 x teams of 3-4 (65 in total) walked over the month of April – We had categories/prizes for most funds raised, most steps/rolls, first team to step/roll to 1,000,000,  and best team photo – popular vote. – A total of over 15,500,000 steps/rolls – $5,748 raised for Aspect.
