The UniSport Australia Strategic Plan 2025-2028 includes within Strategic Pillar 1 a focus to promote the value of sport, physical activity and wellness to the higher education sector.
UniSport’s aim is to monitor and positively contribute to the debate on current issues that directly impact the sector. Universities across Australia are already doing meaningful work to prevent and respond to GBV in their sport programs. This section highlights some of those approaches – to share what’s working, spark new ideas, and build a stronger collective practice across the UniSport network.

| Off-Campus Sport Guidelines | Monash University has developed dedicated off-campus guidelines for sport clubs and varsity teams, providing a clear framework for managing risk, setting behaviour expectations and responding to incidents at events away from campus – including interstate travel. The guidelines address GBV directly and are a strong model for universities building their own pre-departure frameworks. | LINK |

| Respect at UQ | Respect at UQ is a mandatory online education module that provides students with practical knowledge about respectful relationships, consent, gender-based violence, ethical bystander intervention, and trauma-informed responses to disclosures. The module aims to build a safer university culture by equipping students with the confidence to recognise harmful behaviours, support others, and access appropriate support services. | Module Summary Respect at UQ webpage |
