UniSport Australia Media Release

After four weekends of competition, Deakin University were crowned Champions of the 2022 UniSport Nationals League of Legends tournament.
Deakin University went in as underdogs against defending champions, the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), after the strong UTS line up defeated the Deakin team in the earlier rounds. However, Deakin put in their best performance of the tournament in the rematch on Sunday to win the title. The gold medal elevates Deakin University to the top of podium for the first time, their previous best finish was 3rd place in 2020.
Sixteen university teams competed in the Division 1 competition, with nine university teams in the Division 2 competition, including the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
Medal winners are:
Division 1
Gold – Deakin University
Silver – University of Technology Sydney
Bronze – Queensland University of Technology
Division 2
Gold – Monash University 2
Silver – University of New South Wales 2
Bronze – The University of Queensland 2
