The New Balance University Basketball League (UBL) will return in August 2026.
The University of Tasmania closed out the 2025 league winning both the men’s and women’s competitions. The 2026 league will see even more teams competing across Australia in home and away fixtures with the top 8 qualifying for the finals series in October. Schedule to be published soon.

Round Four of the UBL was action-packed, with 20 games played across four states 🏀
💜 @adelaideunisportfitness secured an 81-73 women’s win over @monashbasketball in a match featuring 19 lead changes, while AU took the men’s game 72-70 in Wear It Purple Round
🔥 @curtinsports secured two wins over defending champions @utassport with the women fighting back to win 92-84 before the men held on for a 82-79 victory
💙 @monash_sport celebrated Bring The Blue Round securing two wins over @vu.vultures with 72-54 in the women’s game and 93-78 in the men’s

Four weeks down, and there is no breathing room on any UBL ladder
@latrobesport, @nusport.sport and @uniscbasketball are locked at 4–1 in the Women’s North East Conference, while @melbunibb remains the competition’s only undefeated women’s team.
In the men’s comp, @sydneyunibasketball narrowly leads the North East, while @adelaideunisportfitness and @melbunibb share identical 3–1 records at the top of the South West.
